HACKENSACK – In an era that has seen politics grow increasingly personal there are few taboos left. As boundaries are pushed we have seen commentators have propagate the lie that the government is chomping at the bit to knock off seniors and attendees brandishing firearms at town halls. But there had been one binding rule: Respect the Dead. John Driscoll and Rob Hermansen have apparently decided to bury that rule as well.Campaign signs have long been a staple of Fall in Bergen County. They line the highways, roads and front lawns of virtually every municipality. This fall Driscoll and Hermansen have added a new location to the mix: cemeteries. A supporter snapped a picture just yesterday of a Driscoll-Hermansen sign proudly posted at the corner of Campgaw Road and Seminary Drive in front of Maryrest Commentary, right in Rob Hermansen’s hometown of Mahwah.“I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be a metaphor for their campaign or just disrespectful but it needs to come down and they need to apologize,” said Freeholder Julie O’Brien.“It’s tasteless,” Freeholder Vernon Walton said. “If it's an error then it needs to be fixed...immediately. If it's deliberate then John and Rob need a lesson in manners."

“She has already chosen the interests of the insurance industry over the health care needs of working people, she took millions from Wall Street as the economy went into a meltdown, and now she wants to purchase a job in Congress at a time when so many have lost their jobs because of the actions of big bankers and others." -- Monmouth County Democrats spokesman Mike Mangan, on Republican Diane Gooch, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone.

Pathetic Press Releases Hides the Real Problem
You two are truely tasteless fools. This press release is outrageous and disgusting. Anyone who knows the Hermansen Driscoll campaign would know that one of the members of their staff has immediate family members buried there. They would never disrespect a place of rest!
I know Julie and Vernon have attempted to put this county in the gutter with their horrific tax and spend policies, but they should at least have the decency as human beings to get their campaign out of that gutter!
Shame on O'brien and Walton!!!!!!!!!
Fucking Priceless
You are ass-clowns. I mean, couldn't ANYBODY just grab a lawn sign and put it ANYWHERE? Then have a "supporter" snap a pic and 'presto': instant mock-outrage lame-ass press release?
Seriously, this is the best you could drum up? This bogus horseshit was clearly staged by an over-paid "consultant".
This has surprised me somewhat of exactly
how stupid Julie really is these days. The rate of signs that her campaign is putting up and she and her pathetic team wants to discuss this. By the way it is the Democrats who are always trying to get the graveyards to vote.
^^ is right.
Maybe they were just reaching out to Democratic voters.
